Several food service employees took part in learning about fire extinguishers and practiced proper usage of fire extinguisher at the Walpole Fire Station.
Deputy Chief Michael Laracy gave a short classroom presentation to the cafeteria employees before the group moved the class to the fire station for some practice with real fire.
Thanks to a federal public education grant the Walpole Fire Department was able to purchase The Bullex Intelligent Training System, a fire extinguisher training prop. This equipment allows the instructor to use small fires to train groups the proper techniques for using fire extinguishers. The hands-on practice is more effective than just reading the tag on the extinguisher before using it.
In these picture you can see the employee students practice putting out real fires.

Fire Extinguisher Training is available to your group or workplace. Please call Deputy Chief Michael Laracy if your interested.
